Its detection principle is that in acidic media, nitrite ions in water samples react with 4-aminobenzene. The sulfonamide reacts to form a diazonium salt, which is then coupled with naphthylethylenediamine dihydrochloride to form a red dye, which is then measured spectrometrically using the nitrite (NO2-N) water quality detector ERUN-ST-YN730.
